How many hours of lessons did it take you to pass your driving test? This week Wayve, our first customer, have shown just how much their car can achieve with only 20 hours of training data.
We were very excited this week to see the latest blog from our very first customer, Wayve. The Cambridge-based start-up have a unique approach to the challenges of self-driving, applying reinforcement and imitation learning to teach a car to drive.
Wayve have not supplied their AI with any rules based inputs (such as driving on the left, or slowing down for intersections), and rely only on consumer-grade GPS, but the results are certainly impactful. For more details, we urge you to head to their blog to read more: https://wayve.ai/blog/driving-like-human .
We’re extremely pleased to see one of our StreetDrone Twizy vehicles on the road showcasing Wayve’s technology, as it demonstrates another unique approach to autonomy integrated with our open and agnostic vehicle architecture. You can also see the safety systems within our drive-by-wire system, though in this case, the safety driver doesn’t need to intervene!
